Psalm 27:4-5
One thing I ask from the Lord,
    this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
    all the days of my life,
to gaze on the beauty of the Lord
    and to seek him in his temple.
For in the day of trouble
    he will keep me safe in his dwelling;
he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent
    and set me high upon a rock.

New International Version (NIV)
               A college professor offered students the chance to bring one sheet of paper to an exam.  "You may use anything you can fit on a sheet of paper," he said.  One creative student brought a blank sheet of paper and asked a grad student to stand on it and help him on the test.
               God is not a genie.  I know.  Still, if he granted you a single wish what would you ask?
               David knew the Lord well and prayed often.  Notice he only asked for one thing:  to dwell in the presence of the Lord all the days of his life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and seek him.
                If we practice God's presence we will find his protection sufficient.  Days of trouble inevitably come but God will keep us safe and hide us and set us high upon a rock.
Pray with me:
Father, thank you for the promise of your presence.  Let us see your beauty and seek you above all else.  Help us to rest in the assurance of your love.  In Jesus' name.  Amen.
I want to invite you to join me in memorizing 52 passages this year from the 2017 set of Fighter Verses.  You can find the Fighter Verses App at the App Store on your phones or via this link  http://fighterverses.com/the-verses/fighter-verses/As we study the Bible this year, let's look at each text and learn what it says about God.
