Mayor London Breed and Treasurer José Cisneros' Financial Justice Project announce that SF Museums for All is now permanent and year-round

Mayor London N. Breed, The San Francisco Financial Justice Project, and the San Francisco Human Services Agency today announced that San Francisco Museums for All will now provide free admission year-round to more than 20 museums and cultural institutions for residents who receive Medi-Cal and CalFresh.

This will allow more than 225,000 San Franciscans to recieve 4 free tickets each time they visit their favorite San Francisco museums and cultural institutions.

As our city recovers and reopens, a permanent San Francisco Museums for All program will give families an opportunity to engage in safe, healthy, and enriching activities at a time when they need it most.”

This expansion aims to support San Francisco's reopening and recovery, and follows the program’s initial launch for the Summer of 2019, when more than 25,000 San Franciscans received free admission to visit local museums and cultural institutions.

Admission fees at many institutions can total from $20 to $150 for a family of four to visit, which creates financial barriers for people to access the cultural and educational benefits that these institutions offer. Families with low incomes often do not go to museums because of prohibitively expensive ticket prices.

A permanent and year-round San Francisco Museums for All will help bring the magic of museums and cultural institutions to all of our City's residents.

Eligible San Franciscans can receive up to 4 free tickets per visit at participating museums when they present their Electronic Benefits Card (EBT) or Medi-Cal card and proof of San Francisco residency, such as a driver's license or a letter addressed to them.

More than 20 museums are participating in San Francisco Museums for All as of June 2021!
