We wish you and your loved ones a happy, healthy
and meaningful New Year!
Who We Want to Be: A Message from Gil Preuss In a few days, we will have the opportunity to celebrate the start of a new year and once again reflect on the many ways we can narrow the gap between our actions and our values. Choosing to Give of Ourselves in the New Year You’re walking down a busy street. You’re late for an appointment. Suddenly you pass a homeless person who says, “Can you spare some change so that I can get something to eat?” What do you do? If you’re like most people when you’re late for an appointment, you probably keep walking. Greater Washington’s Newest Movers & Shakers Explore Israel On August 12, 34 young adults from Greater Washington embarked on Birthright Israel's first DC Movers & Shakers trip, designed specifically for young professionals working for or interested in government, NGOs or political, foreign policy and international security think tanks. The innovative trip offered an in-depth look at issues facing Israel's security, government, law, military and foreign policy. “Getting to experience an immersive, politics-centered trip was fascinating. I can't imagine a better way to understand the ever-shifting tectonic plates that make up Israel's political topography. I left this trip with more questions than answers[,] but I also left with an appetite to learn even more.” said participant, Justin G. See photos from the trip »
