Hi Neighbor!

Yesterday I sat shoulder to shoulder in a church pew in Wayne with my fellow classmates from Conestoga Class of 1984 as we honored the life of one of our own who had become a quadriplegic in 1989. He had lived a valiant and productive life, but it was not what any of us had predicted or wanted for him, and we came together as a class to say goodbye.

So with that in mind, here are a few of my thoughts, wishes, & predictions for The Class of 2016:
1.    Congratulations! Simply by graduating from any of our local township or private schools, you are already better equipped to study and succeed in college than almost every other freshman you will meet on campus next fall.
2.    You will Breakfast Club. Honestly, the 5 Year Reunion may be dicey, but after that you will be surprised how bridges are built among classmates who before thought they had nothing in common.
3.    Your High School was a very small pond. I don’t care how your classmates defined you; you get to decide who you are.
4.    Know the difference between Joie de Vivre and thinking you are Bullet Proof. Have each other’s backs during the college and young adult years. Get help if you need to, no matter how hard or emabarrassing.
5.    When you are 45 and heading to Target with no make-up on after exercising with your cellulite on full display, that is the day you will bump into the Class Hottie who you had a 4-year crush on. Mark my words. Always carry mints.
6.    Travel beyond the Main Line to see what life is like outside of our prosperity bubble and learn what the Triple Bottom Line is as you study for your future career.

Best Wishes Class of 2016!
Leslie
