Did you know that antisemitic violence has been rising in recent years?

According to the ADL, from 2019 to 2020, antisemitic incidents increased significantly in Greater Washington. Nationally, violent incidents in Pittsburgh, PA, Monsey, NY, Colleyville, TX, Poway, CA, and other places specifically targeted Jewish people.

Your longtime support of The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington has been, and continues to be, crucial to the safety and security of our Jewish community.

One of the ways you accomplish this work is through funding the partnership between The Jewish Federation and the Secure Community Network (SCN). Rochelle Goldberg, Executive Director at Congregation Olam Tikvah, graciously shared some of the ways her synagogue has enhanced its security through this partnership.

As Rochelle said, safety and security systems are vital to our community’s ability to thrive. Thanks to you, Jewish children, students, seniors, and families can more freely participate in Jewish life.

Your longtime support:

• Keeps Jewish children and teens safe at JCCs, summer camps, and early childhood centers through trainings that improve security and emergency preparedness.
• Helps local organizations receive federal security funding, including $3.5 million in support last year to upgrade doors, locks, cameras, and more.
• Ensures local organizational staff can receive SMS or email safety alerts.
