Busy Bees 4-H Club June Meeting

Our June meeting was held on June 2 at the Community Hall in Eldorado. We discussed the fair and what to do for our meeting in August. Alexia Hintz talked about her experience at Space Camp. Emily Hinz, Violet Hinz, and Gabi Westphal talked about their experiences at Art Beat Camp.

Taft 23 Volunteers at June Dairy Days

On Saturday, June 7th, Taft 23 helped at June Dairy Days in Fond du Lac. It was a fun event with animals, snacks, games, and more to celebrate Wisconsin’s dairy farms. Taft 23 helped with games, and everyone had a great time!

Market Livestock Committee Fair Updates

Swine/sheep/goat barn pen setup

On June 28, we will have a barn pen setup for swine, sheep, and goats starting at 7 am.  For safety reasons, we are asking for volunteers who are 12 years old and up to help.

Barn display setup

Barn display setup for clubs and chapters is scheduled for Sunday, July 13, from 8 am - 5 pm and Monday July 14, from 8 am - 5 pm.  There will be ABSOLUTELY NO setup prior to these times. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

Prefair meeting

Make plans to attend a MANDATORY prefair meeting on Sunday, July 13, at 1 pm OR Tuesday, July 15, at 3 pm.

Weigh-ins - Tuesday, July 15

Please be patient with us as this year we are implementing an animal scanner.  There may be some “bumps” as we work to learn this new program. Please remember that everyone on the FDL Market Livestock Committee is a volunteer who is trying to move our program forward!
  • Swine - 8-11 am - Sheep/goat/swine barn
    • Don’t forget your PRRS/PEDv negative test (done within 90 days of the fair) and health certificate (done within 30 days of the fair). Both MUST be completed according to the 2025 Fond du Lac County Fair book.
  • Beef - 9-11 am - Beef barn - southeast corner
  • Sheep and goats - 12-1 pm - Sheep/goat/swine bar
    • Sheep and Goat Form must be completed by July 1.  (See Fond du Lac County Fair website→Exhibitors.)

STEM CSI Camp - July 29-31

Are you ready to dive into the thrilling world of crime scene investigation? Join us for an action-packed, three-day STEM CSI Camp designed for curious minds in grades 3rd-8th. Youth will participate in hands-on activities such as fingerprinting, learning how to crack codes, and other techniques to examine evidence. At the end of the camp, they'll have the chance to solve a mini crime scene!

4-H Raffle

Return raffle tickets to the Extension office by June 27! Only one check per club should be turned in, made payable to the Fond du Lac County 4-H Leaders Assn. Any unsold tickets must also be returned to the office. The drawing will be August 20 at the Adult Leader meeting.
