Celebrating the 2nd Cohort of Clinical Research Professional Apprentices |

|
After 240 hours of classroom learning and 2,000 hours of hands-on experience, our second cohort of Clinical Research Professional Apprentices has successfully completed the program! We would like to extend a huge congratulations to this year's graduates: Harmon Kreuger and Mounia El Kalai.
Harmon worked in the Department of Anesthesiology and Mounia in the Department of Surgery, both receiving support from the Center for Clinical Studies. This program doesn't just teach new skills, but also opens doors for a new career path, and we're excited for the next steps these graduates take as Clinical Research Professionals!

We're excited to announce CLNV 5000: Responsible Conduct of Research, a NEW one-credit course that fulfills NIH Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) training requirements while cultivating the knowledge and skills needed to conduct research with integrity.
Participants will develop decision-making and communication skills for navigating real-world research challenges while building awareness of the resources that support responsible research practices. Register by August 21, 2026.

The WashU Medicine Clinical Research Training Center Genomics in Medicine Seminar Series is back! Sponsored by the Institute of Clinical and Translational Sciences, this weekly virtual series covers a range of topics in genomic medicine and is led by WashU faculty experts. Enroll by August 21 for academic credit, or join us anytime throughout the term!

Do you struggle to clearly communicate your research to broader audiences, reviewers, or collaborators? Join us for a university-wide training with Randy Olson, PhD on the ABT (And, But, Therefore) Framework — a simple, powerful tool used by scientists, communicators, and policymakers worldwide to make complex ideas clear and compelling.
The keynote lunch introduces the framework; hands-on workshops then put it to work, with participants building and refining their own ABT alongside Randy and his team. These sessions will be held September 22 & 23, 2026. Register now!

The NextGen Clinical Trial Investigator Training is a one-day, in-person educational training designed for investigators who currently lead or would like to lead clinical trials. The series includes lectures and panel discussions from leaders across the University of Missouri System, as well as WashU, to define the regulatory, operational and ethical components of clinical trials, with the goal of developing a skilled workforce that provides the highest level of patient safety, teamwork and data quality.
The next in-person training session is October 9, 2026, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Online coursework should be completed prior to in-person training.
