A fan-favorite performance was Coach Bristo’s and Mr. Sullivan’s “I am Ke-nough” performance. Senior Josie Chapman, who has been singing since age 8, performed “Someone Like You” by Adele.
“My sister got me into singing,” Josie said. “We used to sing together all the time. I like singing because it gives a different perspective of sound and shares a story. I was very nervous.”
Even though she has been singing for a long time, she said she still gets nervous when hearing other people sing and is afraid to get their song stuck in her head and forgetting the lyrics of her own song. She practiced everyday after school, and on Wednesdays she practiced with Dr. Harper, CAC Choir Teacher. As a senior performing in her last talent show, Josie said had lots of feelings that accompanied her performance this year.
“It was very exciting but also very sad because it was my last one,” she said. “I had been doing it for so long, and then realization hit me after I sang it was my last time on stage.”
