A warm welcome to this edition of Sydney Business Connect for 2023.

Since commencing as Dean late last year, I have been truly inspired by the many conversations I’ve had with students, staff, industry partners, and our fantastic alumni community in how the Business School has been so influential in creating new businesses, carving a unique path in their careers, and sustaining lasting friendships across the globe. The month of May has been such a joyous month filled with many graduation ceremonies in the great hall and the historic backdrop of the quadrangle.

I am excited to take the Business School from strength to greater strength and encourage you to stay connected and engage in the lifelong learning opportunities, such as our AI sprints, industry engaged research and chances to connect with our students through mentoring, and capstone industry projects the Business School offers. I look forward to soon sharing with you our new Business School strategy. We are especially eager to work with today's leaders to address the most critical social, environmental and governance challenges we are facing, such as, climate change, reducing inequality, the erosion of trust in our institutions, and the opportunities and challenges of generative AI from better and faster decision-making, autonomation of routine tasks, improved disease diagnosis to regulation, discrimination, privacy and ethics.

I hope you enjoy the fascinating stories in this edition, and I look forward to sharing the impactful work of the Business School community throughout 2023 and seeing you at one of our alumni events soon, I will be in New York and Toronto in early June.
