The Lilburn CID continues to see strong momentum across the community through infrastructure improvements, regional partnerships and collaborative planning efforts.
As we head into summer, we look forward to our upcoming Board Meeting and Caucus of Electors on June 10 at Lilburn City Hall. During the meeting, Arturo Adonay will stand for re-election, while David Freeman will conclude his term, opening the opportunity for a new property owner to join the CID board. We encourage stakeholders to attend and take part in this important meeting.

Partnerships continue to play an important role in shaping Lilburn’s future. Recently, I had the opportunity to participate in Kennesaw State University’s Urban Studio final jury review focused on Old Town Lilburn. Students presented thoughtful and creative concepts inspired by the community, with two teams advancing to compete against Urban Studio programs across the region.
We also joined fellow Community Improvement District leaders at a Rotary Club of Gwinnett panel discussion centered on infrastructure, economic development and collaboration across Gwinnett County.
Closer to home, our partnership with the City of Lilburn continues to drive meaningful progress on projects that improve safety, connectivity and quality of life. In the latest Tad Talks blog, I highlight how coordinated investment and leadership have helped advance projects like the Bryson Park/Hood Road roundabout, which is already making a positive impact for residents and visitors.

Construction also continues moving steadily at The Porchline development and Old Town parking deck. Landscaping and hardscaping are underway at the deck, while work progresses across multiple Porchline buildings. These projects represent exciting investments in the future of Old Town Lilburn, and we appreciate the community’s continued support as progress continues.
Thank you for your continued partnership as we work to build a stronger, safer and more connected Lilburn.

Community Connections – Lilburn CID Partners with KSU |
At Lilburn CID, we value opportunities that connect education with real-world community planning, and our partnership with Kennesaw State University did just that.
Executive Director Tad Leithead recently served on the final jury panel for a Kennesaw State University Urban Studio project through the College of Architecture and Construction Management focused on Old Town Lilburn. Students presented innovative concepts shaped by on-site exploration and a deeper understanding of the community, showcasing thoughtful design, creativity and a strong appreciation for the City of Lilburn’s character and future growth.

In addition to presenting at the final jury review, two student teams earned top recognition in the class: Alex and Jessie, and Jose and Juan. Both teams advanced to compete against seven Urban Studio programs, with two teams representing each studio for a total of 14 teams.
Alex and Jessie received an honorable mention for their presentation. Congratulations to all the students for their outstanding work and creative vision!
We appreciate Kennesaw State University and Professor Kevin Dougherty for including Lilburn CID in this collaborative experience. Engaging with emerging talent and fresh perspectives is an important part of building stronger, more forward-thinking communities.

Building Gwinnett Together |
Collaboration continues to be one of the driving forces behind meaningful progress across Gwinnett County and that spirit was on full display at a recent Rotary Club of Gwinnett panel featuring executive directors from the county’s Community Improvement Districts.
Lilburn CID Executive Director Tad Leithead joined fellow CID leaders for a thoughtful conversation focused on the shared priorities, partnerships and long-term investments shaping communities across Gwinnett. From infrastructure and connectivity to economic development and quality of life, the discussion highlighted how collaboration between districts continues to create lasting impact throughout the region.
We’re grateful to Rotary Club of Gwinnett for bringing together leaders committed to strengthening Gwinnett County and fostering conversations that help move our communities forward.
