Rebuilding Together 2021
On Saturday, April 25, 2021, a small volunteer alumni team worked with the Rebuilding Together organization to provide yard work and clean-up for a deserving Manchester resident. Keep an eye out for future volunteer activities.

Respiratory Therapist Runs Remberance Race for Lives Lost During COVID-19
Goodwin Respiratory Care graduate Adam Levine is an avid runner. He has laced up twice for the Hartford Marathon and sported a racing bib during the Newport Marathon in Rhode Island. On a mission to fulfill his lifelong dream of participating in the Boston Marathon, Levine learned that the Boston Athletic Association plans a virtual race in October 2021.

Nightingale Awards for Excellence in Nursing
The Nightingale Awards for Excellence in Nursing were established in 2001 by the Visiting Nurse Association of South Central Connecticut. Since then, the ceremony has garnered support from the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven, Yale New Haven Hospital, and the Hospital of Saint Raphael. Only healthcare organizations can nominate recipients for the award, and the accolade is open to Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) who demonstrate distinction in the field.

Goodwin Professor Tackles Trauma in the Classroom
Dr. Elizabeth Lane, Associate Professor of English at Goodwin University, has been studying the role that trauma plays in the classroom. Students coping with trauma may experience stress-responses to deadlines and exams, they may find it hard to focus, they may suffer from low confidence in their ability to complete coursework, and they may struggle to retain and apply information.
