The Silver Shelf is a student-led initiative addressing basic needs insecurity at NYU Silver from three angles: a centralized and physical resource hub, adjacent programming, and data-informed advocacy. Meet Dilim Dieke, LMSW, SIFI
Dilim is a first-generation Nigerian social worker, community organizer, and entrepreneur. A graduate of Silver in 2015, she has nearly 10 years of experience in school social work, non-profit program development, and training future social workers as a field instructor. Currently, she is the Director of Community Wellness Initiatives at HEAF where she oversees the organization's mental health services and social & emotional learning programming. Additionally, Dilim is the President of the NYC Social Work Ladies Collective, a newly formed entity focused on fostering connections among social work professionals and students, and co-founder of Truly You LLC, a consultancy helping Black, Indigenous, and Women of Color rise and thrive through transformational workshops and healing retreats.
