National Senior Citizens Day honors the contributions of senior citizens in the United States. According to the traditional definition, a senior citizen is anyone older than 60 years of age. This demographic is the fastest-growing one and the most politically engaged segment of the U.S. population.
In honor of National Senior Citizens Day, spend time with your older relatives or make a commitment to volunteer at a local retirement home sometime this year. If you're a senior citizen, check for special promotions or giveaways on August 21 at your favorite restaurants and shops. |
