Submission Deadline Extended for World Congress
The deadline for abstract submissions for WFATT 2019 World Congress X–Tokyo has been extended to March 2. Abstracts on clinical case studies and original research pertaining to athletic training health care are welcome. English is the official language of the congress and we would like to encourage submissions from students, clinicians and researchers. NCAA, Derek Sheely Foundation and Aspen Institute Partner to Host Conference
The Derek Sheely Conference: Reducing Catastrophic Risk for Student-Athletes is take place April 18 at George Washington University. This conference is held in honor of Derek Sheely, who died from a traumatic brain injury suffered during football practice in 2011. This free public event is to inform and engage coaches, athletic trainers, other sports medicine personnel, student athletes, youth and parent. Registration opens in early March.

Register for GLATA Annual Meeting
The Great Lakes Athletic Trainers’ Association is excited to announce that housing & registration for its 51st Annual Meeting is now open. Attendees can earn up to 21 CEUs including 9 EBP CEUs. General Session highlights for the GLATA Annual Meeting include lectures on: manual therapies (dry needling and IASTM), MTSS, opioid addiction and ethics in athletic training. Nine Mini-Courses and five Learning Labs will also be offered.

SLC Seeks New MentorThe NATA Student Leadership Committee is seeking a certified athletic trainer to serve as a mentor to the students on the committee. The committee is comprised of 11 students, one representative from each district and a chair. The mentors provide assistance as needed to the students with their responsibilities as committee members, provide leadership and serve as a positive role model for students. The deadline for applications is March 2.
