Convention Update

COVID-19 Updates

We are praying for our churches as they continue to navigate the COVID-19 crisis. Helpful resources are available at nafwb .org/COVID19.

The International Association of Free Will Baptists has asked that all Free Will Baptists spend time praying on Wednesday, June 14, for people throughout the world impacted by the virus. The virus is just beginning to accelerate in Latin America.

What can you do to stay healthy during this time? Check out the webinar by the Executive Office next Thursday, May 21, at 10:00 AM featuring Dr. Fred Yerby. Dr. Yerby is a family medicine doctor in Fayette, Alabama, and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area. He has been in practice for more than 20 years. WNAC Scholarship Recipient

This year’s chosen recipient of the Mary R. Wisehart Scholarship for Southeastern Free Will Baptist College is Abigail Hair. Abby is from New Bern, North Carolina, and attends New Life FWB Church. She just finished her junior year at Southeastern and is looking forward to starting her senior year this fall. She will graduate next May with a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education. Upon graduation, Abby hopes to teach history and English.

D6 EveryDay Curriculum

D6 EveryDay is designed to help parents communicate the time-tested truths of God’s Word. “We took everything we learned from the past 16 years of producing the best family ministry curriculum and produced an even better generational discipleship experience for both the church and home,” says Dr. Ron Hunter.

Welch College

Watch President Matt Pinson's recent interview with two members of the graduating class of 2020. Brenton and Debbie both grew up as missionary kids, Brenton in Japan and Debbie in Bulgaria. They met while students at Welch and are both graduating with bachelor's degrees this year. They are currently raising support to go to Bulgaria as Free Will Baptist missionaries with IM, Inc.

Foundation Announces

Grant Recipients

Antioch, TN—Due to the COVID 19 pandemic and the subsequent severe financial impact, the Free Will Baptist Foundation board voted to suspend normal guidelines for grants in 2020. The board decided to allow grants for emergency operational needs and narrowed their focus to consider only National agencies for 2020 grants. The following ministries received grants

Welch College - $400,000
Randall House Publications - $100,000
WNAC - $100,000

We hope to resume normal grants in future years, and the 2020 applications we received in March will be held and considered at that time.

Today's episode of the Better Together Podcast features an interview with Boris Sarlabous, president of Cedars of Lebanon Seminary in Pinar del Rio, Cuba. Boris shares about the Free Will Baptist work in Cuba and ways we can support the ministry there.
