4-H Friday Newsletter - November 7, 2025

The Extension Office has Moved!

Through the first few weeks in November, please call 920-906-4623 to make an appointment if you need something from the office. We will be unpacking and organizing the new space, so responses may be delayed.
An Open House will be held from 2-4 pm on Monday, November 17th, so you can stop in and see the new space in the Fond du Lac County Government Center at 160 South Macy St! Visitors must use the north entrance and go through security, then take the elevators in the lobby to the 2nd floor.
We sincerely appreciate your patience during this transition.

Taft 23 Makes Halloween Decorations at St Francis Home

by Sonny O.
Taft 23 went to St. Francis home and helped make crafts for the residents who live there. We used tiny pumpkins to make cats, spiders, and bats. The residents can use them to decorate for Halloween!

Family Learning Day Proposals 2026

Family Learning Day cannot happen without youth and adults volunteering to lead sessions! We are seeking Family Learning Day presenters. You can submit the form electronically here or we can mail you a form to complete. Questions: Contact Extension Fond du Lac County at 920-906-4625.
Family Learning Day is an opportunity for 4-H members (grades 5K-13) to learn a new skill or work on a project on Saturday, February 28, 2026. Youth and adults can lead sessions. Please help make this day a success by volunteering to teach a session or two. If you need help with your session, invite another person to co-teach with you. Sessions 1 and 5 are 60 minutes, Sessions 3 and 4 are 45 minutes, and Session 2 is 90 minutes. Indicate the length and time of day that fits your needs. You may repeat your session if you wish. Registration for this event goes out at the end of December/beginning of January.
Examples of previous sessions vary from woodworking, arts & crafts, basketball basic drills, photography basics, simple recipes, mindfulness, Livestock Skillathon, and so much more! Please share your talents or skills with youth who might have the same interests!

Honor Veterans through Wreaths Across America

Last year, 347 veterans were honored between St. Charles and Taycheedah Cemeteries in Fond du Lac County. This year, Calvary Cemetery in Fond du Lac was added, which means an additional 1400 veterans will be honored. That big number means a lot of volunteers will be needed!

The ceremony will take place on Saturday, December 13, 2025.  Sign up to help honor our veterans here: Wreaths Across America Volunteer Sign Up

Memorial Contributions to the 4-H Endowment Fund

Did you know? When a past or present 4-H leader passes away, a $25 memorial contribution is made to the Fond du Lac 4-H Endowment Fund in their honor.
To ensure this tribute is made, please send a copy of the obituary to the treasurer, JoAnn Maedke. While she does check obituaries regularly, some may not appear in the Fond du Lac Reporter or may not mention the individual's involvement with 4-H. Your help in sharing this information ensures we can properly honor their legacy.
Thank you for helping us recognize the contributions of our 4-H leaders.
