Making our Voices Heard: A Message from our CEO
It’s no secret that Greater Washington is home to thousands of committed, generous and passionate people – those who lead by example, who stand strong in their convictions and who care about making our society a better place for everyone to live. This Sunday, April 29, we’ll have the opportunity to live these values together at Federation’s Sara & Samuel J. Lessans Good Deeds Day. The message behind this international day of service – that every person has within themselves the capacity to change the world – is a value both Jewish and universal.

Washington’s Next Generation of Philanthropists
“I recommend [Jteen Philanthropy] for people who are looking to make a positive impact on the Jewish community. You should come with an open mind and prepared to think, ‘what would be the best to help the Jewish community around the world?’”
– Solomon H., Jteen Philanthropy participant
Federation’s Jteen Philanthropy brings high school students together as giving circles, with each cohort responsible for allocating $10,000+ to non-profits of their choosing. Using the principles of Jewish giving, intentional philanthropy and consensus-building, this next generation of Jewish communal leaders, philanthropists and change agents put their values into practice as they work together to determine the most effective and impactful way to use their funds.
Applications are now open for JTeen Philanthropy 2018-19. Read more in the Washington Jewish Week »
