Good morning! ClemsonLIFE celebrated 15 graduates over the weekend. The Nook collected more than 1,626 items as part of its food drive during Give Day, the 2025 Research Symposium is scheduled for next Wednesday and more.

What to know today:

The ClemsonLIFE™ program graduated 15 students on Saturday in a ceremony filled with celebrations and special guests. ClemsonLIFE is a post-secondary education program for students with intellectual disabilities that prioritizes job skills and independent living.

NEWS AND UPDATES

Alumni Distinguished Professor Lesly Temesvari is conducting research on whether an existing drug could treat an eye infection that primarily affects contact lens wearers. Temesvari's work could help provide an array of different treatment outcomes that avoid painful and potentially damaging eye drops.

This year, 12 different seminars took place as part of the Research Seminar Series from the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business, with each seminar addressing a critical topic in business research.

Emy Gardner, a senior double majoring in performing arts and English, received the first place Undergraduate Research Award from Clemson Libraries. The award recognizes students who make use of library resources and services to produce outstanding research for scholarly or creative works.

GIVE DAY FOOD DRIVE

The Nook, an employee-focused pantry designed to support faculty and staff who may be experiencing food insecurity or financial hardship, collected 1,626 items during its Give Day Food Drive earlier this month.

The 2025 Research Symposium is scheduled for next Wednesday, May 7, at the Watt Family Innovation Center. This year’s theme is “Navigating an Evolving Academic Landscape,” which focuses on the process and practice of research and creative endeavors, leveraging internal and external resources.

STEM SC will host a free STEM Saturday on May 10 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Westside High School in Anderson. Students will make a set of mechanical lungs as they learn about environmental science. The event is free to all K-12 students who register.
