Welcome to Our Dragon's Arcade!
Critical thinking. Problem-Solving. Creativity. Teamwork. Over the last six weeks, our fourth graders embarked on an exciting STEM engineering challenge. Using their knowledge of simple machines, they built an ARCADE! Inspired by Caine's Arcade and cardboard construction (watch his inspirational story of perseverance and creativity that launched a movement here), students used the design process to build their own games with Make.Do tools, each using a minimum of two simple machines. The Arcade made its exciting debut on Friday. Check out our Facebook page to view their creations!

Field Hockey Clinic Opportunity for Girls in Grades 3-6
Dear St. Michael's families,
My name is Catherine Hughes. Teresita Ambrogi-Torres and I are St. Michael's alumni from the class of 2013. During our time at St. Michael's, we loved playing in the field hockey program and we continued playing field hockey all four years at Trinity Episcopal School. We are both IB Diploma Candidates at Trinity, and part of our graduation requirement is to do a Collaborative Service Project with two or more students.
We are hosting a field hockey clinic on Sunday, March 26, from 9 a.m.-noon on Trinity's field hockey field and are inviting girls of all skill levels in grades 3-6 to come and play. There is no fee, and snacks will be provided for the players. We will focus on individual skills and have a full-field scrimmage at the end. We hope to create a fun environment to both improve the girls' field hockey techniques and increase confidence in their playing ability to prepare for the upcoming fall season. Girls from the U12 and Cubs teams from Panthers United Field Hockey Club have also been invited, so there will be a variety of ages and skill levels.
The girls will need to bring: Field hockey sticks, Shin guards, Mouth guards, eye gear, water bottles (we will have a water cooler for refills), cleats (if owned previously) or running shoes.
RSVP: If your child plans to attend, please RSVP to one of the emails below and note your child's name, age, and their previous field hockey experience.
Please have the girls come prepared for the weather conditions (hopefully it will not rain!). We hope to have as many girls as possible to come and develop a passion for the game. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us.  Hope to see you soon! Sincerely, Teresita and Catherine
