State and City Film Offices Collaborate to Support Riversport OKC’s NightWater Summer Music Series
OF+MO is proud to co-support Riversport OKC’s NightWater Music Series alongside the Oklahoma City Film & Creative Industries Office. Held every Thursday June 5 to August 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Riversport OKC, NightWater is a family-friendly event showcasing some of the state’s most talented musicians with additional activities, including rafting, tubing and surfing and food provided by Big Water Grill. With live music and events scheduled in the evening hours, guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. These events are free and open to the public.
Join Us at WoodyFest
OF+MO is proud to support the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival, now in its 28th year, taking place July 9-12 in Woody Guthrie’s hometown of Okemah, Okla. The 2025 festival will open with An Evening with Hayes Carll and Evan Felker along with Sarah Lee Guthrie, granddaughter of Woody Guthrie, performing an opening set. Additional confirmed performers include John Moreland, BJ Barham, Red Dirt Rangers, Kyshona, Margo Cilker, Jaimee Harris, Aaron Lee Tasjan and Pony Bradshaw.
Join Us at Circle Cinema Film Festival
OF+MO is proud to be a returning partner of the 2025 Circle Cinema Film Festival taking place at Circle Cinema in Tulsa July 11-15. The festival will feature a variety of Oklahoma films throughout its programming, including the documentary “67 Bombs to Enid” and the narrative feature “Jurassic Games: Extinction,” both of which utilized the state’s film incentive. OF+MO will help present a free public panel discussion on The Director – DP Dynamic moderated by acclaimed actor and filmmaker PJ Sosko at 2:45 p.m. on Sunday, July 13.

Francis Tuttle to Offer Songwriting Course at Rockwell Campus
Francis Tuttle’s Techniques for Writing Professional Song Lyrics is a three-night course designed to explore the methods used by successful lyricists across genres. Open to all experience levels, the class guides participants through songwriting fundamentals by analyzing professional lyrics and learning practical tools for crafting original work. The course will be held August 4-7 on M/W/TH evenings 6-8 p.m. at the Rockwell Campus in OKC.

Meridian Tech to Offer First Assistant Director Course
Meridian Technology Center’s South Campus in Guthrie will host First Assistant Director, a hands-on course covering the essential responsibilities of managing a film set. Participants will learn script breakdowns, shooting schedules, call sheets, on-set logistics and the First AD’s role in safety and communication.

Led by Oklahoma film professional Jordan Wilson (“A Thousand Little Cuts”), the course includes both in-person and virtual attendance options, the latter of which requires access to Movie Magic Scheduling software. Sessions will take place August 19-21 from 6 to 9 p.m. and August 23-24 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

deadCenter Film Announces Amy Janes as New Executive Director
Acclaimed film producer/editor, creative strategist and industry builder Amy Janes has been appointed as the newest Executive Director of deadCenter Film. Janes spent two decades in Los Angeles, where she built a career as a producer, creative executive and marketing innovator. Moving to Oklahoma in 2018, Janes quickly became a driving force in the state’s burgeoning film community, co-founding the Film Crew Institute, launching Filmmakers Ranch and working strategically with legislators and stakeholders to help grow the state’s production infrastructure. Under her leadership, deadCenter Film will continue its mission of fostering creativity and building community while evolving to meet the needs of a dynamic film landscape with plans to drive new partnerships, educational opportunities and industry collaborations that elevate Oklahoma’s film ecosystem on a national and international stage.
