Network, Infrastructure & Unified Communications
38K wireless devices were connected to PennNet in Q4 FY22.
10,500+ campus phones have been migrated to the cloud-based PennFlex Phone, which provides enhanced features like off-campus calling to support hybrid operations. The project is restarting later this month.
1.3M and 59K virtual meeting participants during Q4 FY22 for Zoom and Teams, respectively.
ISC began a multi-year project to consolidate Penn's 60+ Active Directory (AD) instances by Q4 FY24. ADs manage Windows computers, forming the foundation for the security of much of Penn’s computing.
Enterprise Applications & Data Services
Q4 focused on optimization of NGSS Release 1 of Student Records & Financial Aid with loans, customer service, and academic history. Release 2 is scheduled for Q4 FY23.
Successful launch of Workday@PennPerformance Management in July, part of the functionality of Workday Talent. Learning Management expansion is scheduled for Q4 FY23.
Penn is collaborating with Salesforce on a series of projects for a centralized system of record for constituent management, fundraising activities, the online Alumni community, and more. Penn’s Department of Alumni Relations (DAR) is implementing a new alumni and donor system by Q3 FY23.
The Office of the Vice Provost for Research continues to make advances on the Research Portal Program, an initiative providing new, centralized access to research administration information and tools. The Conflict of Interest and Grants Financial Management projects are slated to complete by Q2 FY23.
Penn’s Data Warehousemakes institutional data available to decision-makers for query, analysis, and reporting across ~45 data collections. ISC is replacing the legacy system with an enhanced Snowflake cloud solution by Q3 FY23. Data lake and data sharing will be implemented by Q3 FY24.
Information Security & Identity Access Management
31B security events were logged and the campus firewall blocked 8.5M attacks/month in Q4 FY22.
The IAM team is implementing a modern system to access the University’s vast array of electronic resources and services. The team has been improving the SailPoint application that was implemented as the underlying identity engine for Penn Community in November. Upcoming rollouts include a new form in SailPoint for manual record creation, and a new self-service application for PennKey users to reset their PennKey passwords.
CrowdStrike cloud-native cybersecurity protection has been deployed to ~18K endpoints, a 7% increase over Q3.
Client Support & Training
~10,500 and ~2,200 total support tickets were managed by ISC’s Client Care and HireIT, respectively in Q4 FY22.
