The Countdown is ON!

Counting down the days until you arrive at Washington Square? Please review the important information offered below to help prepare for your first days at NYU—which are sure to be unforgettable! After moving into the residence halls on January 14, the rest of your orientation will feature informative sessions to introduce you to the resources of LS and NYU, exciting excursions to orient you to New York City, and many opportunities to meet your fellow students. Orientation for new students is planned from January 15-16 with additional events during the first two weeks of the semester.

Once classes begin on January 20, so does NYU Spring Welcome, university-wide programming for all new and continuing students that highlights the best of NYU student life, from celebrity performances to student meet-ups. There's so much to look forward to, and it all begins soon!

December Academic Advising Workshops (Mandatory!)

If you haven't already, please make sure to sign up for and attend one of the Academic Advising Workshops. These sessions combine both preparation for your first semester at NYU in Spring 2026, and also entail some pre-advising for your Summer 2026 semester. Registration for your Summer 2026 classes will be held on Monday, February 9th so there is not much time to help you with course selection once you arrive in NYC! You can attend any of these sessions (we have tried to be mindful of time zones)--registration is required!

This introductory workshop will go over effective strategies to find internship opportunities, and how to identify your skills and create strong application materials. Register today!

Virtual Drag Bingo

Thursday, December 18, 7:00pm EST Join us for an evening of virtual drag bingo and performances on Zoom with local NYC drag artist, Chaka Khanvict! Chaka has been a NYC staple in nightlife for nearly 2 decades. She is known for her quick wit and even quicker wig flip. She uses the art of drag as a medium to create an atmosphere of light, love, and laughter in any room she’s in…even a virtual one! Chaka has been in over 20 movies and television shows and currently has 6 shows a week all over NYC. Register today!

NYU & NYC Themed Trivia Night

Thursday, January 8, 6:00pm EST Test your knowledge of NYU & NYC at this virtual trivia night led by your academic advisors! This will be a great opportunity to learn more about your new home in advance of your arrival here and have some fun! Register today!

December To-Do's:

Attend an Academic Advising Workshop, if you haven't already.
Complete Orbital, by Samantha Harvey, the new student reading.
Explore the NYU Wasserman website to find out the career services available to you.
Read through the Dates and Deadlines site for important deadlines including NYUCard, student health insurance, and billing and payment information
Be sure to log into your Admitted Student Homebase Portal to make sure you've submitted all your admission materials, and to access a personalized checklist of items to complete before arriving on campus.
Complete the Academic Integrity Tutorial which should be finished by all incoming students before classes start.
Review the health requirements for incoming students, including the Sexual Respect and Alcohol.Edu tutorials!
Begin the Perspectives Modules, to be completed before arriving on campus.
Accept any financial aid awards in your package.
Submit proof of high school graduation to the NYU Office of Admissions; note International Students who attended high school outside of the U.S. must adhere to the requirements listed at this link.
Submit any advanced standing credit you earned in high school to the NYU Office of Admissions.
International students: be sure to follow the pre-arrival visa instructions from the Office of Global Services (OGS), and contact the international student advisors in OGS with any questions.
