Financial aid: two changes you need to know

Starting with the 201718 financial aid year — which begins on July 1, 2017— there are two important changes taking place with how students submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Sign up for the Virtual Homecoming Hustle

The UW-Platteville Distance Education Alumni Board, a chapter of the UW-Platteville Alumni Association, is hosting the inaugural Virtual Homecoming Hustle 5K Run/Walk. The event serves as a way for distance education alumni and students, along with their friends and family, to participate in a shared activity and connect online from anywhere in the world.
How to take part: Walk or run 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) and post your time online. The top three times will win free registration for next year's event!
When: Any time between Sunday, Oct. 9 and Saturday, Oct. 15
Cost: $20, via online payment

Outstanding Business Student recognized

In 2013, two major events happened in Louis Sage’s life: first, he enrolled in the online Business Administration program at           UW-Platteville, and second, he was hired as a truck loader at Bimbo Bakeries’ Madison, Wisconsin, manufacturing plant. Sage would go on to simultaneously earn his bachelor’s degree and receive a total of three promotions within his company–accomplishments that led to his recognition as the 2016 Outstanding Business Student by the UW-Platteville School of Business. . . Student making a difference on DLC student advisory board

Online learning has been an important part of Susan Williams’ education, which puts her in a unique position to help the Distance Learning Center. Williams, a Master of Science in Project Managment student, joined the DLC’s Student Advisory Board in January, bringing with her eight years of distance education experience and the perspective of a veteran online learner. . . Read more

Oct. 3 – Registration for spring 2016 courses opens
Oct. 3 – Last day to drop a fall course and receive 50 percent of refundable tuition
Oct. 815 – UW-Platteville's Homecoming celebration
Oct. 2425 – The Higher Learning Commission will perform their campus visit for the university's accreditation process
Nov. 1 – Last day to drop a course; no refund available
