Music to Our Ears!
Thanks to the generosity of so many friends and supporters who donated and matched gifts to our Music Therapy Songs for Seniors Program on GAgives Day, we exceeded our goal and raised $12,300!
We've all had those moments where hearing a song brought back a memory or evoked an emotion, and it's a powerful feeling. Our Music Therapy Songs for Seniors program does just that for our residents, bringing comfort, connection, and joy. Money raised will help ensure that more residents have the opportunity to be part of this transformative program.

Distinguished Service
Congratulations to A.G. Rhodes Atlanta Administrator Loretta Barnes for winning LeadingAge Georgia's Distinguished Service Award. Loretta has been working in long-term care for nearly half a century, and this award recognizes outstanding achievements and contributions toward the welfare of older adults.
When Loretta first joined A.G. Rhodes in 2022, she was specifically recruited to serve as the Administrator of our Cobb location because of her background and experience in large-scale renovations and her lead-by-example leadership style. Loretta was instrumental in ensuring the success of our landmark capital project to transform Cobb's campus, and she retired after the bulk of the campaign was complete, and after training and mentoring her replacement. But when A.G. Rhodes Atlanta needed an interim administrator shortly after Loretta retired, Loretta agreed to serve in that position temporarily. However, after several months—and after it was clear that Loretta still enjoyed doing what she loves—she decided to come out of retirement and assume the administrator position permanently.
Loretta was also recently featured in the The Atlanta Journal-Constitution for her 48 years—and counting—of distinguished service to enrich and improve the lives of older adults in our community! Read the article.

'Tis the Season
Our homes are in the holiday spirit and residents have been participating in lots of activities including Thanksgiving dinners, fun LEGO building activities, a jewelry & scarf shopping party, flower arranging courtesy of our weekly Trader Joe's donations, Christmas decorating with Board of Advisors volunteers, stocking decorating with Georgia Natural Gas volunteers, and more!
Staff members also had the opportunity to serve at the Salvation Army Red Shield shelter. We decorated their family dorm rooms for the holidays and fulfilled the children's wish lists, leaving their presents under the trees. We are grateful that we can live out our mission in support of other nonprofits in our community this holiday season!
