From the Camp Director, 10 Years of Service

May 1, 2008 Jennifer and I transitioned into camp ministry after serving as Senior Minister for 11 years and youth ministry for 5. 10 years! WOW! It is truly amazing to see the many changes that have taken place here at Hanging Rock in  10 years. The camp is debt free, we have a new playground, the giant swing has been added, new auto belays for the rock wall, new shelterhouses, new roof on House of Eve, new windows in the Hilton, a bridge to connect both properties, wilderness camp has had several improvements, several new camps have been added, bringing value back to the Chapel without adding any debt to the camp, church giving is up by 45%, Summer Camp attendnance is up 35%, Todd Blair has been added as our Wilderness/Maintenance Coordinator, Drake Burger has been added as an Associate Director, but, to me the most amazing thing is the number of young people that have given their lives to Christ! 567 have made a commitment to Christ and have been baptized here at Hanging Rock in the past 10 years. God is so Good!!! Jennifer and I feel so privileged to be able to serve in a place that is making such a HUGE IMPACT! I say all of this not to boast, but to say THANK YOU! Because none of this would have been possible with out our supporting Churches, Individuals, Board of Directors, Camp Committee, Event Coordinators, Faculty and Ladies Auxilary who are so faithful in the support that they give. We are working on our vision for the next few years and I can't wait to share with you the BIG things that we have in place for the future of Hanging Rock. We always are in need for more people to join in on the support for Hanging Rock.

Notes from the Assoctiate Director,

Only one month until Camp hits! Are you excited? Things are getting into full swing as we prepare for the upcoming summer months! Our spirits are up, but unfortunately our registrations are down a little bit this year. Make sure you are going to www.hangingrock.org  and hitting the register now button to get registered for summer camp. Right now our horse camps are the only camps filled up, but we would love to fill the rest! Make sure to get your church discount codes or fill out a camp scholarship application on our website. No child should miss out on the opportunity to come to camp this summer!
Between main camp, sports camp, paintball camp, wilderness camp, day camp, there is a camp for everyone! June 3rd is the last day for our second tier pricing, so get your registrations in before the cutoff and save a little money.

I am so excited for summer camp and we have hired a great summer staff to help us make every kid’s experience at Hanging Rock an unforgettable one! We are depending on God to move mightily through Hanging Rock this summer and touch each camper that attends. It is your job to get your kids here, it is our job to keep them here, and it is God’s job to make sure they leave changed. We thank you for your support of our ministry, and we hope to see all of your children and grandchildren and nieces and nephews this summer!

Road Closed on 263

If you will be coming to camp from the North using Highway 28 and turning South on 263, we wanted to let you know that you will need to follow 28 all the way out to Highway 63 and go South to the 263 junction. For those coming from the South, you will see the road closed sign at the junction of 263, but you can get all the way to the camp from this direction. Highway 263 is closed in downtown West Lebanon. Our hope is that the road will be open before Summer camp starts but they are giving a timeline of July 1 as the reopening date.

Chapel Update: Grand Opening June 3, 2018

We are getting really close to finishing up the work of "Bringing Value Back" to the Chapel. The month of May will be crucial to have everything ready for the Grand Opening! We will have a grand opening on Celebrate Good Times June 3, 2018. We plan to do a ribbon cutting at 5:15 p.m. and have our first worship service in the chapel starting at 5:30 p.m. We will then have our Annual meeting following the worship service. We are so excited to have this building dedicated to worship for all those that attend Hanging  Rock. Please let Tom know if you can and help finish up the work on the chapel tomlloyd@hangingrock.org.
