The NYU Department of Campus Safety recently received three reports from NYU students of Motor Vehicle Thefts involving electric bikes and electric scooters that occured within the span of one week. These incidents all occurred at the Tisch Hall bike racks, at 40 West 4th Street, in Manhattan.
The first complainant reported that on April 27th at 9:00 a.m., they left their electric scooter secured with a chain in the Tisch bike racks. Upon returning, on May 1st at 10:00 a.m., they saw that their scooter was missing.
The second complainant reported that on May 1st at 11:30 a.m., they left their e-bike secured with a black combination lock in the Tisch bike racks. Upon returning at 4:45 p.m., they saw that their bike was missing.
The third complainant reported that on May 2nd at 11:02 a.m., they left their electric scooter in the Tisch bike racks. Upon returning at 10:20 p.m., they saw that their scooter was missing.
Description of Suspects: The first suspect is described as male-presenting and having a dark complexion. They were wearing a dark-colored baseball cap, a black fleece with a black jacket around their waist, blue jeans and gray sneakers with white soles.
The second suspect is described as male-presenting and having a medium complexion. They were wearing a dark-colored baseball cap, a white zip-up hoodie and a gray shirt underneath, blue jeans and white sneakers.
The third suspect is described as male-presenting and having a medium complexion. They were wearing a dark-colored jacket, black pants, blue sneakers and carrying a black backpack.
