November 19, 2021Fall Greetings from Ellen, 4-H Program Assistant
| |
Hi All,
It’s a new 4-H year! Have you set your goals for this year? Are you moving forward? Dodge County 4-H is moving forward. We can do it! Make it happen!
With that said, we are still in the process of finding a location to hold at least one Family Learning Day event. If we don’t find a place, we will offer Family Fun Zoom opportunities for learning and fun, like we did last year.
Think about what knowledge or skills you have that you could share with others through a Zoom meeting. We are looking for leaders willing to be presenters on these Zooms. Contact us at 920-386-3790 or ebohn@co.dodge.wi.us; we would love to set it up for you. Zooms will be planned for January, February and March.
Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy your family time.

4-H Volunteer Training in DecemberBecome a certified 4-H volunteer! New 4-H volunteers attend the Volunteers in Preparation (VIP) Training on December 7th. This is required training for all adult 4-H volunteers.
4 Steps Necessary to Becoming a Certified WI 4-H Volunteer
The safety of all youth and adults is our top priority. To ensure volunteers are qualified, understand, and are prepared for their positions, Extension requires:
- Background check - first year and every 4 years after.
- Annually, signing the Extension Volunteer Behavior Expectation form and the Assumption of Risk Document. This is typically done as part of the registration process.
- Volunteers In Preparation (VIP) Training - once, with ongoing virtual and in person trainings after.
- Complete the Extension Volunteer Mandated Reporter Training online
A NEW 4-H volunteer will need to complete the steps above. First, enroll in 4HOnline as a volunteer 4-H leader and sign the volunteer behavior expectation form. Once that is done, you’ll receive an email from UW Madison explaining that you will next be receiving an email from “HireRight,” and they will be asking you to complete a criminal background check. Next, you will need to complete the online Mandated Reporter Training and the VIP Training.
December 7 This December session is being trained by the 4-H Youth Development Educators of Area 16 – Columbia, Dodge and Sauk counties. Log into 4-HOnline to register for the December 7 session using the “Events” tab.
