New Mexico + Inhabited Vases
Fifty+ years ago, before Planets, Megaworlds, and Saturns, Josh started out making traditional vases. He loved the challenge of creating an elegant form that could also stand up and hold something. But he wanted more. Beyond the beauty of the form, he wanted the surface appearance of his glass to also be fascinating in itself.
This led Josh to create iridescent, feather, flower, bubble, architectural, and other vase series that he no longer makes. It also led him to blue New Mexico work, which imagines a starry night sky, and Inhabited Vases that merge Planets with a vase function.
Josh still makes these two vase series!
