...recent DGL graduate, university valedictorian, adventure-seeking biologist, and 100% committed Young Life leader

For as long as she can remember, Carmita has loved science. Her grandfather gave her a secondhand copy of National Geographic when she was 13 years old and today her collection contains more than 200 issues.
|
|
Carmita recently graduated with honors from Amazonian State University in Ecuador with a Bachelor's of Science in biology and focussed research on the effects of microplastics in the digestive tract of Amazonian fish.

Carmita and her husband, David, (also a DGL) serve as Young Life leaders in their local area and recently participated in a South American Young Life leadership training weekend in March 2024.
