Reminder: Textbook Distribution Session is Still Open!

Distribution Schedule: Monday - Friday | 10AM - 4PM | 5th Floor, West Building

You can still place orders or submit verification requests for required textbooks on the textbooks website before Friday, January 30. For physical textbook pick-up and verification, please go to the distribution sessions. Electronic books will be distributed directly through email. See the textbook policies and instructions before ordering and contact shanghai.textbooks@nyu.edu with any questions.

Apply for Senior Capstone Project Funding!

Academic Affairs has funding available for expenses related to Senior Capstone Projects in any Arts and Sciences or Computer Science or Data Science or Engineering major. Business majors, if enrolled in the Business and Economics Honors Program, are also eligible. Each senior is eligible for only one award regardless of the length of the capstone program. Please see more information.

Deans' Undergraduate Research Fund (DURF)

Deadline: March 1, 2026

The DURF Program awards funding to NYU Shanghai students for independent summer research in any field of study. Please carefully review the application instructions. If you are interested in applying, we strongly recommend that you attend one of the below DURF Advice Sessions:

Summer Classes Available in Albert

Summer Session I: May 18 - June 26, 2026
Summer Session II: June 29 - August 7, 2026

The 6-week summer class schedule can now be viewed on the Summer Session Courses website or in Albert. You can take up to 8 credits per summer session. Summer class registration will begin on February 9 (EST). Contact your Academic Advisor to lift your hold before enrolling.

Summer Chinese Language Immersion Program

Program Dates: May 29 - August 1, 2026
Priority Application Deadline: February 10, 2026

Interested in accelerating your Chinese language learning? A 9-week Immersion Program enables you to complete two semesters of material and earn 8 credits! Five levels are offered: Elementary, Intermediate, Advanced, Post-Advanced, and Post-Advanced II. Fill out the application form with your NYU account. Questions? Contact shanghai.summer@nyu.edu.

Mural Project Volunteers

Visual Arts Professor Maya Kramer and the Office for Community-Engaged Learning (CEL) are creating a mural for the campus cleaning staff’s breakroom to brighten and personalize their resting space. Last fall, student volunteers and staff explored ideas through art workshops. This semester, we begin painting together—join us as a volunteer!

Want support from peers when tackling challenging course content, working on a paper, or preparing for a presentation? The Academic Resource Center’s (ARC) Learning Assistants (LAs) are here to provide peer tutoring! You can meet with:

Discipline Learning Assistants to clarify difficult topics and deepen your understanding in over 30 Math, Computer Science, Natural Sciences, Business, Economics, and Chinese Language courses.
Writing & Speaking Learning Assistants, who can provide peer feedback on English writing, speaking, reading, or listening.
