Secondary Prevention for All in Need after a Type 1 myocardial infarction: a comparative effectiveness randomised trial
| |
HREC approval has been received for the trial with an opt-out approach from the SAC HREC. Two sites have received governance approval and begun to recruit. A further two sites are in the process of receiving approvals and being opened.
| |
| SPAN Sites
There are currently two sites recruiting, Royal Perth Hospital (PI: Prof Graham Hillis) and Flinders Medical Centre (PI: Dr Sam Lehman). In the next few months, we aim to have four sites up and running.
| |
| SPAN Recruitment
The SPAN trial is looking to recruit 650 participants. Randomisation is 1:1 to either standard cardiac rehabilitation or SPAN, a more personalised approach to rehabilitation. The goal is to recruit 325 in each of the two treatment arms. Currently there are 38 participants enrolled, the majority of which have been recruited at Royal Perth Hospital, which opened in late October 2023.
