Inspiring Futures

IN! is looking for high school and transition aged students with intellectual disabilities who want to learn more about what college is like. Over six weeks, these students will meet online with a group of college mentors to hear about their experiences in college and ask questions they have.

The application for Inspiring Futures College Mentorship Program has been extended to Oct 3. In addition, the program is now open to students from anywhere in Colorado.

Send some Cheer

While it's continued to be a tough year, students with intellectual disabilities are inspiring us as they continue to work towards achieving their college and career goals. As students prepare for midterms, spread some cheer by sending a care package to a college student for just $30! There are 72 students accessing inclusive services in Colorado - let's make sure they all get a care package!

Results are IN!

From April to July of 2021, IN! conducted a statewide needs assessment to look at current barriers to college for students with intellectual disabilities in Colorado. The results are now public and will guide IN!'s work over the next years to expand inclusive higher education to more students with ID in our state.

Open House

The Office of Inclusive Services at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is hosting an open house on Oct 25th from 5:30-7pm at University Center Room 307. Learn more about:

Career Development

The Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) provides a wide variety of individualized services to support people with disabilities to reach their employment goals. In this webinar, Meghan Greene, guest speaker from Colorado DVR, will provide an overview of DVR - what it is, how to enroll, and how services can be used before, during, and after college.

This webinar will take place on November 17th from 1:30-2:30pm MST.

College & Career Exploration

Elementary school is a great time to start thinking about college! Think College, the National Coordinating Center for Inclusive Higher Education, is developing a college and career curriculum for elementary aged students with and without disabilities. They are currently looking for 3rd-5th grade classrooms to pilot the online curriculum. For more information, or to get involved, visit: https://thinkcollege.net/projects/fqie.
