Quote of the month:
“When we speak we are afraid our words will not be heard nor welcomed, but when we are silent we are still afraid, so it is better to speak.”

What's Happening in the Office of Civic Engagement (OCE)
OCE is teaming up with Bucknell Student Government‘s (BSG) Community Committee to launch the On-Campus Kindness Campaign and Spring '24 Kindness nominations from March 18th to the 29th on campus. Look out for announcements on social media and the Message Center in mid-March as we look to show appreciation for individuals and departments that consistently go above and beyond to help others throughout the year. A celebration for the nominated individuals and departments will take place in mid-April, more information TBA!
The BSG Student Engagement Council (SEC) will hold monthly meetings starting in late February, aiming to become the central student hub for civic and community engagement on campus. Their objectives include establishing a network of engaged students and partners, organizing and advertising civic engagement opportunities both on and off-campus, and providing training in community engagement best practices. For further information or to connect a student leader with SEC, contact SEC President Dora Kreitzer at dhk012@bucknell.edu.
Save the Date! In collaboration with Central Susquehanna, the Union Snyder Action Agency and Bucknell’s Office of CIvic Engagement, there will be a Social Determinants of Health part 2 event on April 18th from 8:30-1:30 pm at Bucknell University. The goal is to build on our June 2023 event in creating a local action plan with our local SDOHs. Registration and other info to come!
As a reminder Bucknell’s spring break is March 10 -17.
