• The National Science Foundation (NSF) named Clemson a founding partner in the NSF Grid Modernization Engine in the Carolinas (Carolinas Grid Engine), one of the agency’s newest Regional Innovation Engines (NSF Engines). The project will develop, test, commercialize and deploy technologies that address one of the nation's most pressing infrastructure challenges.

• Clemson researchers Lindsey Rowe and Emily Howell recently hosted the Camp MARC (Multilingual Authoring Rural Camp), a student learning experience for grades 9-12. The experience combines professional development for literacy teachers with a fun camp environment for multilingual learners that encourages literacy skills.

• Shannon Alford, director of the Clemson Regulatory Agricultural Service Laboratory, joined scientists from various institutions and private industry to help install laboratory equipment and train technicians at a new soil-testing laboratory in Woliso, Ethiopia.
