Medical Library Reopens After Flood
Thank you for your continued support and patience since the library flood on February 1st. Over the past month, restoration experts have worked tirelessly to dry, clean, restore, and inspect affected spaces. Nearly the entire first floor of Kresge Library, including all Medical Library spaces, were impacted. We are thrilled that restoration efforts are nearly complete and all of our spaces were able to reopen on February 25th. The pictures below display the state of the spaces during the early recovery process.
Three sample photos from the library flood damage. 1) Medical Library office in the dark; 2) Collaborative Study Room with dryers; 3) Books preparing for evacuation
Minor repairs are still being conducted on the 1st and 2nd floors of Kresge Library and we apologize for any noise or inconvenience. The Medical Library is actively working to replace damaged furniture and technology in the study spaces. If you notice any items that are not working properly (chairs that do not roll, plugs that do not work, burned out lights, etc), please report them to us in the Medical Library Office.
Finally, we wish to thank our kind OUWB colleagues who quickly found us temporary spaces in O'Dowd Hall and welcomed us into their work environments during restoration. And, thanks to our OU Libraries' colleagues who ensured our spaces remained safe and who regularly updated us on progress throughout the process. We truly appreciate your support!

Next Student InfoBite

No matter the stage of your Embark or any research project, you will be collecting, storing, and analyzing a variety of data. The key is to organize and manage that data so you can easily find it, pick up your project months later without problem, and share your data with your team or perhaps even a future student!
Join us for our next InfoBite with special guest speaker Joanna Thielen, Assistant Professor & Research Data Librarian at OU Libraries, to learn simple strategies for managing your data - including file naming conventions, data storage and backup, and documenting your data.
  • What: Practical Tips for Organizing Your Data for your Embark Project
  • When: Monday, March 11; 11:30am - 12:30pm
  • Where: 110A O'Dowd Hall
