High Holiday Community Food Drive
Organizations Throughout Greater Washington
During Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, our Jewish community can fulfill the mitzvah (good deed) of remembering those who are in need. This season, there are many opportunities throughout Greater Washington to recognize and support those who are struggling with hunger and food insecurity in our community, especially in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Federation is pleased to present a list of local synagogues and Jewish organizations offering food and other donation opportunities in honor of the High Holidays so you can find the opportunity that works best for you. Jewish Community Food Drive for Yad Yehuda
Federation is proud to co-sponsor the Jewish Community Food Drive for Yad Yehuda, together with Edlavitch DCJCC, Adas Israel Congregation, American Friends of Lubavich, DC Minyan, Kesher Israel, Ohev Shalom, Rosh Pina, and Tifereth Israel Congregation. Yad Yehuda of Greater Washington is in need of non-perishable items to stock the shelves of the Capital Kosher Pantry, the area's only kosher food pantry. Donations can be dropped off from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Sunday, September 13 in the Edlavitch DCJCC Parking Lot (masks and distancing required) or at any of these locations.
