Paying Tribute to the Past |
By Haylee Newman, head writer
CAC has been represented by many different images — mountains and mustangs, crosses and shields. It all seeks to communicate who our school is and why what we do here is significant. The Pony Press logo is no different. Did you know that it incorporates an old CAC logo used by the football team, the old student newspaper and more?

HUSH! Seal your lips or someone may steal your heart! It's almost time for the beloved CAC tradition of Hush Hearts. On Feb. 13, boys can pin a paper heart to their shirts and must follow the cardinal Hush Hearts rule: don't talk to girls! The goal is to remain silent every time a girl talks to him. If he speaks to a girl, she gets to take his heart and wear it for the remainder of the day. The girl with the most hearts by lunch wins! This repeats on Feb. 14 but with the roles reversed.

Mrs. Hodges might live on the 6th grade hallway, but she also has the unique position of getting to work with our campus' high school student leaders. We sat down to talk to Mrs. Hodges about working with the youngest and oldest CAC students at the same time.

Haylee Newman will be acting as our first official Pony Press head writer. She is in charge of writing all stories and captions, as well as conducting interviews (except this one because that would be a little awkward). Haylee is excited to use her role to get to know students and faculty members that she would not otherwise come in contact with. Above all, Haylee is eager to see how the Press will evolve over time and is proud to be a part of its founding.

They greet us at the door. They bring indescribable joy. They love us unconditionally. And honestly, who doesn't love a cute pet pic. So here's Cooper Ashberry (8th) with his dog Gizmo!
