Greetings Colleagues,
Good afternoon and happy Friday! I hope it has been an excellent week for you. This marks my last note to you in my interim leadership role for Administration and Finance (A&F). The A&F leadership team is excited to officially welcome Dr. Shantay Bolton to campus on Monday, Aug. 14. Many of us have been actively working with Dr. Bolton over the summer to help ensure a smooth transition into her new role as executive vice president for A&F and chief business officer. I thank all of you who have helped compile information, provided operational resources and expertise, and have managed her upcoming series of engagement opportunities. It takes a village, and I am grateful for the support you have graciously given.
As I reflect on my time as the interim leader for A&F, I am more appreciative of the breadth and depth of services A&F provides to the entire Georgia Tech community – students, faculty, and staff. And with our influence and impact across the Institute, there comes a great responsibility to be subject matter experts, problem solvers, innovators, and collaborators with both internal and external partners. As the work we do advances the Institute’s instructional and research mission, we have the unique opportunity to demonstrate what it means to lead by example. And for this, I hope you will join me in celebrating all of our contributions and accomplishments. I could not be prouder to be a part of this Yellow Jacket community.
Beginning on Monday, I will resume my role as vice president for Information Technology and chief information officer. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Leo Howell for taking the helm this summer as the interim leader for the Office of Information Technology. Leo will also be resuming his role full-time as chief information security officer.
I thank you all for your support during this transition period. I hope you enjoy the upcoming weekend. Please take care of yourselves and one another.
