Hi All, It is almost National 4-H week! Take advantage of this important week to highlight the remarkable 4‑H youth in your communities and showcase the incredible experiences that 4‑H offers young people. This year, National 4-H week will be held from October 2-8.
I wanted to thank all of the 4-H members and leaders who answered the request to do a radio interview with Wade Bates at Good Karma Broadcasting (WBEV 95.3FM) or answer some questions from Gloria Hafemeister regarding her news article for the Wisconsin State Farmer.
One of the ways I would like to promote Dodge County 4-H this week is making Wednesday our Wear 4-H Gear Day. For other ideas on how to promote 4-H during National 4-H Week, please check out 10 Ways to Celebrate National 4-H Week!
Remember to check out dates at the end of every Friday Focus on 4-H. We are also working on the yearly calendar for 2023 as soon as we have dates from the charter documents for county project meetings and programs.
Have a great week!

4-H Poultry Project
ATTENTION POULTRY MEMBERS Poultry Project Fundraiser and Opportunity for Points - All Hands Needed! For decades the greatest supporter of the Dodge County Poultry Project has been the Beaver Pigeon and Bantam Club. The BPBC Poultry Show and swap is October 8th in Jefferson at the Jefferson County Fair Park. We help with the set up, tear down, and clean up. The money we earn from working this weekend allows us to buy the pizza and soda at the fair rather having a potluck. Everyone enjoys the pizza, this is the time we work for it! Please, mark your calendar of the following times.
- October 6th 4:00 pm at the Dairy barn to set up cages, put in shavings, and attach coop cards. The BPBC provides the pizza and soda for supper
- October 8th after the show (usually around 3pm) we tear down cages and clean up.
There is a lot of work to do but it goes very well when everyone works together. These times are also excellent opportunities to earn points for your activity sheet to make the sale. Many have learned to get their points this weekend, so they don't have to worry about them the rest of the year. Please, plan to attend and make it a success.
