After attending local schools and graduating from San Marcos High School, he attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). From there he earned a master’s degree in bilingual education at the University of Southern California (USC), and then went on to pursue a doctorate degree in multicultural education at the University of Oregon.
Dr. Villanueva has consulted with numerous public and educational agencies in the area of the recruitment, retention and promotion of a diverse workforce. He has served on several boards and commissions and values developing relationships with the community.
