2020 Presidential Awards for staff announced

The Presidential Awards recognize staff members for their significant contributions to the betterment of the University and whose actions exemplify Notre Dame’s Core Values: Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Leadership in Excellence and Leadership in Mission. There are six recipients of the award for 2020. Program offers path to Notre Dame for deserving students 

In a new partnership among the University, the U.S. Navy and Holy Cross College, deserving students will have the opportunity to enroll as midshipmen in Notre Dame’s Naval ROTC program after their initial year of college coursework. The Naval ROTC Preparatory Program will provide students from diverse backgrounds the opportunity to graduate from Notre Dame as officers in the U.S. Navy. (More...)

Work hours on the rise during pandemic, as is 'mom guilt'

Nine months into working from home due to a pandemic and the question is: How are working parents managing the dueling work-family demands of COVID-19?  Abigail Ocobock, assistant professor of sociology, and doctoral student Lindsay Heldreth sought to answer this question. “Put simply, moms felt guilty whatever they were doing; dads did not," said Ocobock. Child/Elder Care Community Google Group formed

One outcome of the Working Group on Schools and Child/Eldercare is the creation of the Notre Dame Child/Elder Care Community Google Group. This Google Group for faculty, staff and graduate students helps members of our community exchange ideas and information on child and elder care resources and needs. (More...)
