East Flora Elementary School is having their Trunk or Treat Field Day on Tuesday, Oct. 31 starting at 9 am. Pastor Haven plans to attend, and if you are interested you are free to join her. We will take the leftover candy from our Trick or Treat Trail and share it with the children and volunteers at East Flora during this event. If you are interested in attending, we will meet at the church at 8:20 am to head to the Elementary School.

Bring your cans of cranberry sauce to help MadCAAP fill their 700 Thanksgiving boxes. As in the past, our November Communion Offering will help fill MadCAAP's Thanksgiving boxes for those in our community who are living with hunger. Bins are available in the foyers of the Worship Center and the Education Building to collect your cranberry sauce cans. We have committed to providing 1400 cans. Bring cans or monetary donations by November 14.

PHUMC Trick or Treat Trail was filled with ghouls and goblins and dinosaurs, all ready to hand out candy to the Kids. Thanks to the Youth and Bridge groups who worked hard to make sure everyone had fun, and to the Board and staff members who cooked the delicious chili to make sure no one went hungry. Drew and Taylor Pruett won the Chili Cook-Off contest, giving their $100 prize to Beds for Kids MInistry. Thank you to all who helped make this a great event, including all who donated candy. Leftover candy will be given to East Flora Elementary and Luther Branson Elementary to be used in their academic incentives programs.

PHUMC members operated a booth at the Madison Scarecrow Festival at Liberty Park Thursday. PHUMC information was shared, new friends were made, games were hosted, and candy was distributed.

As people of faith, we will look at the compelling reasons it should matter to us, that all Mississippians have access to good healthcare and hospitals.
