Over the last several months, you may have heard about the FAFSA simplification process and the coming changes to how students apply for and be determined eligible for financial aid. As a valued partner, the Radford University Financial Aid Office wants to make sure you’re aware of what’s coming and how that will impact the campus community.
The most important information to know and share is that:
|
| |
|
- The 2024-25 FAFSA will open for completion by Dec. 31.
-
The new FAFSA will be reduced from over 100 questions to under 50 questions.
- Radford University’s FAFSA priority deadline is March 1, 2024.
- We encourage students to submit their applications before returning to school for spring semester.
-
The online 2024-25 FAFSA will be “role-based” for individuals who are required to provide information on the FAFSA (student, student’s spouse and/or parent). All users will be expected to:
- Create their own FSA ID and password to log in.
-
Everyone, whether or not they have a Social Security number, will be required to have an FSA ID to access and complete the online FAFSA.
- Provide their own information on the FAFSA.
- Only be able to see questions that relate to their specific role.
-
The final calculation by the FAFSA application is no longer called the Expected Family Contribution (EFC). Rather, it will be called the Student Aid Index (SAI) to more accurately describe how that number is used to determine financial aid eligibility.

The Financial Aid Office appreciates your partnership and looks forward to partnering with you to support Radford University students.

Behavioral Ninjas Training Workshop
|
|
|
Radford University’s Office of Human Resources has opened registration for the training workshop “Behavioral Ninjas: Making the World a Better Place, One Behavior at a Time.” Both in-person and Zoom options are available.
Course description:
Based on the book “5 Chairs 5 Choices” by Louise Evans. Becoming a behavioral ninja means having the skills and awareness to effectively communicate with anyone, no matter their personality or communication style. The workshop explores universal principles that can be applied to all facets of life, from dealing with crucial conversations to strengthening relationships. The concept of “Behavioral Ninjas: Making the World a Better Place One Behavior at a Time” is to provide us the opportunity to choose our reactions to more positively impact the behaviors of those around us.
|
| |
|
The impact of using these principles in the workplace is significant. The higher the level of toxic behaviors, the lower the level of productivity and the greater likelihood of poor morale. By mastering these concepts and becoming behavioral ninjas, individuals can create a positive work environment that fosters productivity, goodwill, and success!
|
|
|
- Identify five behavioral choices.
-
Describe their own typical responses.
- Choose positive behaviors they want to practice.
