Benefits of Using a Digital Persistent Identifier |
A digital persistent identifier (DPI), such as an ORCiD, provides scholars with control of their publication and profile data throughout their careers, even if they change their name or institutional affiliation. DPIs also ensure reliable citation, attribution, and linking of research outputs. ORCiD can also be linked to SciENcv, which saves time when building proposal documents for submission to funding agencies like NSF and NIH. Schedule a consultation with a GW librarian for assistance! Support Undergraduates Pursuing Fellowships and Scholarships |
Are you a GW faculty or staff that would like to support and mentor undergraduates as they pursue fellowship and scholarship opportunities? The GW Center for Undergraduate Fellowships and Research is seeking members for new National Awards Endorsement Committees. The primary role of endorsement committee members will be determining which candidates represent GW in national award competitions. However, service as a member of the endorsement committee is an opportunity to build a sense of belonging and develop scholars. The expected time commitment is 8-12 hours throughout a review period.

Updated Fringe Rate for Postdoc Associates |
GW has negotiated an agreement with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services which approves the fringe benefit rate for postdoctoral associates. Beginning FY24 (i.e., July 1, 2023), the postdoc associate fringe rate will be 24.81%.
PIs budgeting for postdoc scholars should work with the postdoc support team (postdocsupport@gwu.edu) and their research administration pod to determine the appropriate monthly fee and the portion of that fee that is an allowable expense on sponsored projects.

W.M. Keck Foundation Research Program
|
The W.M. Keck Foundation Research Program seeks to benefit humanity by supporting projects in two program areas: 1) medical research and 2) science and engineering. Projects should be novel and distinctive in their approach, question the prevailing paradigm, or have the potential to break open new territory in their field. Grants range from $1 million - $5 million and are typically $2 million or less. GW is eligible to submit one application for each program area. If interested in being one of GW’s applicants, please submit a single-page concept paper and a five-page NIH biosketch via OVPR's InfoReady portal by 1:00 pm on Friday, June 23, 2023. View full limited submission details.
