| Commencement 2016 - Welcome to our newest Alumni!
| |
|
Champlain College President Donald J. Laackman conferred 537 associate and bachelor degrees to one of the largest graduating class in the College's history on Saturday, May 14th. We are so thrilled to welcome these newest Alumni to the family!
In his Alumni Welcome, Maj. Chris Gookin '99 encouraged graduating students to be leaders; initiate and develop relationships; leave organizations better than when they arrived; aggressively pursue opportunities, but never at the expense of others; and conduct themselves with integrity, compassion, honesty and candor.
Nina Knorr '16 (Professional Writing) spoke on behalf of the students and delivered a heartfelt and genuine reflection on her time at Champlain, the impact and privilege of a college education, and a compelling case for service. Read Nina's speech here.

From the desk of Dr. Laurie Quinn, Provost and Chief Academic Officer:It is my sincere pleasure to let you know that after a successful national search, Dr. Scott Stevens, Professor of Mathematics at Champlain, has accepted my offer to become the Dean of Information Technology & Sciences. Scott will succeed Dr. Robert Marino, whose superb interim leadership during recent years has contributed significantly to Champlain and to ITS.
I look forward to working with Scott in his new capacity as Dean, and I have every confidence that he will provide the required leadership, vision, and dedication as we move forward together to steward what is already great in ITS, and to build upon its many strengths as a division with innovation and excellence.
