SRWC is celebrating National Pet Month in April with two activities. Not only can you celebrate your pets by positing their photos on Slack throughout the month, you'll also be able to meet (and maybe even adopt) a furry friend at our 'Yappy Hour' event, where dogs from a neighborhood rescue will be on campus to say hello.
Note: We look forward to seeing your pet's photos on Slack,
but please take a moment to review our 'no pet' policy.

Upcoming Campus Fire Drills
SRWC Operations will conduct its annual fire drill (building evacuation drill) at:
Academy Hall on Wednesday, April 10 at 9:10 a.m.
University Hall on Wednesday, April 24 at 9:10 a.m.
During the drill, the fire alarm systems will activate inside the buildings, and the annunciators and strobes may be audible/visible from other buildings. No action is needed outside of Academy Hall and/or University Hall during their respective fire drills.
Affected building occupants should acknowledge any audio or visual alarms when activated, walk calmly but quickly to the nearest emergency exit/stairwell (do NOT use elevators), and check-in at the designated Emergency Assembly Point (EAP). We ask for your full cooperation during the evacuation drill. We recognize these drills may interrupt your schedule, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

New AED Devices Deployed Across SRWC
Stanford Redwood City (SRWC) has deployed 25 Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) across six campus buildings for emergency use. An AED is a medical device used to provide emergency assistance for those experiencing sudden cardiac arrest. Although AEDs do not require specialized training, AED training is offered in conjunction with CPR on the Stanford Palo Alto campus (EHS-1300 via STARS) and in the Redwood City community via training providers affiliated with the American Heart Association and the American Red Cross.

Connect via our campus whiteboards
SRWC Campus Services continuously strives to make this campus a vibrant, fun and inclusive space for all occupants. So, we have installed whiteboards in all the plazas (except in Discovery Hall). Our hope is that this board becomes a hub for sharing information around events, resources, lost and found, jokes, polls or even a space to ask questions. The whiteboards will be cleaned on the last Sunday of each month, so please post information accordingly.

Access and ID Card Tips
All card access requests must be submitted by a designated department point of contact (POC). If one of the following applies, please identify your POC and notify them directly.
- I lost or misplaced my Stanford ID Card (notify your POC immediately so that card access for your lost or missing ID card can be paused).
- My Stanford ID Card is not working

Single-stream Recycling Success
As of September 2023, recyclables from Stanford’s main campus are sent to GreenWaste Material Recovery Facility, that recovers at least 85% of material that it processes. On average, 87% of Stanford’s recyclables have been rated “Grade 1”, defined as having contamination of 10% or less. This rating means our recyclables have an increased value and a secured place in the recycling market. The Office of Sustainability is appreciative that GreenWaste has offered to give our community a first-hand look at what happens to our recycling after it leaves the campus.
