Champlain College Alumni Relations
Brian David Johnson, Intel's Chief Futurist, led a town-hall style conversation at Champlain College earlier this month where he posed the question "What's the Future of the American Dream?" as research for a forthcoming book. To learn more about Johnson's visit to Champlain and the reason he chose to begin his research in Vermont, you can listen to his interview with VPRBrian's visit also received some local media attention from WPTZ and WCAX. A warm thank you to all who shared your comments and tweeted during the event.
Each year, a number of Champlain College Game Studio seniors attend the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco. This conference provides an opportunity for students to connect with Champlain alumni, interact with leaders in their chosen field, and network with potential employers. Any student who has attended will tell you that its impact is meaningful, concrete, and lasting. However, attending GDC carries a hefty ticket price so we have established a scholarship fund that will allow us to offset the cost for the program's most outstanding seniors. I urge you to support this scholarship now you will help make our students' dreams a reality. With your gift of $25.00 we would like to send you a t -shirt and with your gift of $10.00 we will send you a commemorative coin.

Champlain College's Year with the Saint John's Bible

It is my pleasure to welcome The Heritage Edition of the Saint John's Bible to Champlain College and to invite you to participate in the various events we'll be holding throughout 2015.
The themes of interdisciplinarity, innovation, inclusivity, creativity, and social justice resonate throughout Champlain's curriculum, and I eagerly anticipate the many ways the Saint John's Bible will enhance teaching and learning in our community. I hope you will explore the website a bit and then join us for Champlain College's Year with the Saint John's Bible: Educating the Imagination.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Beaulieu

In my work as Sustainability Director at Champlain College, I regularly reach out to partners within the community to help further our work of becoming a more sustainable institution.  In the past couple of years, those neighboring organizations have included Burlington Electric Department, City Market, and the University of Vermont Transportation & Parking Services, to talk about things such as energy efficiency improvements, tours for student Eco-Reps, or potential shared transportation projects. Besides the common thread of working in the environmental sustainability field, one other commonality came forward: my contacts at these organizations are all Champlain College alumni.
This realization made me want to dig further and find out more about these individuals, as well as our home institution – which did not even have an environmentally-based academic program until 2010.  I recently spoke with some of these folks who are making a difference in their chosen path and posed a few questions - I hope you enjoy their answers - Christina Erickson, PhD, Sustainability Director
