Thanks to your generosity, hundreds of Y kids had a very Merry Christmas!

Hundreds of children were able to enjoy Christmas gifts that they might not have received had it not been for the generosity of our Y members, volunteers and staff. Over 700 children were able to pick out their favorite gift at the Fairfield Family Y this year. A special thank you to Councilman Al Austin, aka Santa, who sat with every single family for a holiday photo.

The Long Beach Police Department Senior Volunteers went above and beyond to collect, sort and gift toys to the entire family of over 40 Play & Learn preschoolers.

Bikes for Kids 2019

Our 6th annual Bikes for Kids giveaway was held at one of our 19 ASES program schools, Roosevelt Elementary School. Close to 180 3rd graders were asked to write an essay describing how owning a new bicycle would benefit their community. The best essay from each 3^rdgrade class would be awarded a bicycle that included a lock and a helmet. What the students didn’t know was that everyone would be receiving a free bicycle...just in time for Christmas! See the reveal in the video above. It's guaranteed to bring a smile to your face!

Fairfield Family YMCA wins
Organization of the Year award!

Aquatic Capital of America Foundation held its annual banquet on Jan. 16. Emcee, Drew Satariano stated, “In the recent Olympics, held in London, there were more aquatic competitors from Long Beach than any other city in the world. We have more aquatic everything — more activities, more participants — than all others.”

LBYMCA is proud to be an important part of training youth in our communities to be safe around water.
