Adult Education Advocacy

We'd like to ask all of our supporters to reach out to your representatives and senators to remind them about the importance of adult literacy and education. Budget cuts to adult education could drastically impact adult literacy, workforce development, and human services programs throughout the country and right here in our community.
ProLiteracy, an international nonprofit organization that supports the people and programs that help adults learn to read and write, has great resources on their website to advocate for adult literacy. Their Letters for Literacy campaign challenges adult learners, tutors, and advocates to write letters to local representatives to support adult literacy. Their website provides templates and facts that you can use for all your advocacy needs.

"Adult basic education programs bring a powerful return on investment, impacting the lives of Americans, their families, and their communities. Adult basic education helps adults break cycles of inter-generational poverty and illiteracy by providing adults the skills they need to succeed as workers, parents, and citizens."
