Dear Faculty, Administrators and Staff,
|
The Celebration of Faculty Excellence brings our community together to honor the outstanding achievements of our faculty across categories including Researcher of the Year, Teacher of the Year, Adjunct of the Year, Excellence and Innovation in Teaching 21st Century Skills, and the Excellence in Service-Learning Award. For many of these awards, each school proudly selects its winners, with each recipient receiving a stipend in recognition of their accomplishments. University-wide winners are chosen by committees comprised of past awardees, and we eagerly anticipate unveiling these honorees during the event. Please mark your calendars and RSVP to join us for this special celebration. We look forward to sharing this moment of recognition with you.

Beyond celebrating the achievements of our faculty, we also take great pride in the ways their mentorship helps shape the success of our students. That impact was on display at the BIG EAST Undergraduate Research Poster Symposium, where eight Seton Hall students represented the University with impressive scholarly work across a range of disciplines. We extend our sincere thanks to the faculty mentors who guided these projects and congratulate all of our student participants on this outstanding accomplishment. Special congratulations go to Krish Reddy, mentored by Tinchun Chu, Ph.D., whose project, Combating Potential Drug-Resistant Pathogens with a Lipid-Modified Green Tea Derivative, earned third place in the Health Sciences/Biomedical category of the competition.

James Daniel Receives University Research Council Grant
|
James Rushing Daniel, Ph.D., assistant professor at the College of Arts and Sciences, received a URC award for the project titled “The Big Fix: How Entrepreneurship Captured the American University.” This scholarly monograph traces how American higher education embraced entrepreneurialism and how that shift reshaped institutional priorities. The book focuses on the rise of entrepreneurship education and the growth of “entrepreneurial ecosystems” that support student and faculty ventures through programs and infrastructure. By providing a critical historical account, the project clarifies how market-oriented reforms transformed the modern university beyond earlier analyses of marketization alone.
